In his upcoming book “The Comeback” - Leigh Steinberg, through the brave narrative of his own comeback from addiction, proposes the stark realization that it’s not a matter of “if” but simply how and when life will deal you a blow; and that no matter who you are or what you face, you have the power of resilience to come back from it.
At this year’s Super Bowl Party, we celebrate that power and explore the resilience of the brain, the body, and the spirit. Athletes find themselves at elevated risk for TBI, CTE, and physical injury and must also work through intense emotional and mental stress in the course of their high profile careers. As we delve into treatments, solutions, and pathways for these athletes - we discover that they are pathways to help us all find resilience for the challenges life presents us.
For this event, we will gather amid the incomparable backdrop of San Francisco: no stranger to resilience after coming back from historic fires, earthquakes and pandemics. In a highly polarized time, filled with uncertainty - we’ll take the opportunity to harken back to San Francisco’s Summer of Love, embracing its messages of peace, unity, and the strength of community.
